In June 2003
heavy rains flooded district Thatta and Badin. Disaster took more
than 3000 lives, affected 183000 residents in districts with loss
of billion rupees. Continuous shower of 48 hours compelled the dwellers
to evacuate their fields, homes and huts in search of shelter.
It is the Rural Women Welfare Organization who was among the first
five NGOs who entered in the inaccessible affected areas, provided
rescue and relief to the victims of the catastrophe.
