Journey Towards Development

Village Wadden Jo Goth

Goat rearing Project

This is a story of very disadvantaged and an isolated village of district Sanghar . Conservative and narrow minded people live here who have reservation for girl’s education. The social status of women in this village was very low. RWWO launched a campaign for change in the village and started awareness and motivation program in the community. Gradually the change took place and as initiative a micro credit program was launched there. The loan was given to the women of the village for rearing the goats. Soon they got much benefit from it. Women managed a better economy and enhanced their business on larger scale. Next year RWWO offered them & community school for girls and they accepted it. Now-a-days 30 girls are studying in the community school supported by GFW. Recently an adult functional literacy school is also opened in the village for elder women supported by CRS. Indeed it was a tough task to mobilize that community for development but as the workers of RWWO determined to change their behavior , so the workers achieved their aims after continuous struggle. Now the atmosphere of the village has been totally changed and they are on the way of better life. The social status of women has been upgraded to a remarkable level and both men and women are leading a happy life.
