Participation in Political Activities,
A STORY OF COURAGE.

Ms. Sukhi

A big village namely ‘Bhiri’ 7kms away from Sanghar town and containing more then 5000 population. Illiteracy and poverty are the legacy of this village, RWWO established a CBO and started awareness and motivation program there. Ms. Sukhi is the group leader of the community women members having very active and inspiring personality. In 2001 the local elections were held by the Govt. of Pakistan for that Ms. Sukhi was suggested to contest the election. Indeed it was a very tough task but eventually she agreed to contest for the seat allotted in their country. RWWO commenced a potential campaign in favor of Sukhi and born all the fee and other expenses of election campaign. After the poll it was a grace full moment when Ms. Sukhi was announced as a successful candidate. In the circumstances, where women in our society have no good status, Ms. Sukhi’s success is great achievement and great story of courage.
